Graham is doing everything he can to persuade Rachel to quit her job and become a full-time housewife. Even when she insists she wants to continue, he keeps up the pressure by suggesting to the headmistress Miss Strickland that Rachel is unhappy and thinking of leaving. But Rachel is absolutely furious when she finds out and lays-into Graham for trying to control her life. Mrs Kirk is delighted when Paddy tells her that he and Mandy have decided to split to spare her any distress.
