Carlotta confesses to Guido that she's in love with him, sending him into a crisis because he can't understand his feelings for Maria. Their birthday dinner, however, is cancelled due to an unexpected event. Maria is delighted to have met Gianluca, a charming lawyer who courts her like a true princess.
